Kempegowda Institute
of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Bangalore was founded in the year 1980. The
institute is started under the Vokkaligara Sangha. The Vokkaligara Sangha is
set up in 1906 to promote education in rural Mysore.
The college is belongs to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health
Sciences, Bangalore. The objective of the college is to impart training to
medical students to be skilled in the management of health problems of the
individual and the community, commensurate with his or her position as a member
of the society and familiarize with the national health programs.

Master of Surgery (MS)
MS or Master of Surgery is a super speciality degree course
in medical science. The course is available in different branches of medical
science, such as Anatomy, ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology,
Ophthalmology, and Orthopaedics.
It is a three-year post graduate degree program in medical
science and the candidates who join the course called ‘Junior Residents’ in the
clinical disciplines and ‘Junior Demonstrators’ in basic clinical disciplines.
The candidates with MBBS degrees who have registered permanently with Medical
Council of India or any other State Medical Councils are eligible for this
Master of Surgery course.

Master of Surgery is a three year post graduate program in
