Kasturba Medical
College (KMC), Manipal was come into existence in the year 1953. It is a
leading medical college began with the pre-clinical section.
The institute became a full-fledged independent college in
1969 when the institute began with clinical program. The college has 200 acres
of well developed campus.
In 1993, the government of India granted Deemed University
status to Manipal University (formerly known as MAHE) which saw KMC coming
under its wing.
The institute is the first college in the private sector and
ranks among the top five medical colleges in the country today. Students from
44 countries have graduated from the college, and its degrees are recognized
worldwide.
The institute created with only the pre-clinical section at
Manipal as the students had to go to Mangalore for their clinical training. In
1969, when the clinical program started in Manipal, KMC became a full-fledged
independent college.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The Candidates should have passed MBBS Degree examination from a recognized medical college affiliated to any University in India.
- Candidates should have completed 1 year of compulsory rotating internship from the same college or as approved by Medical Council of India
- Candidates should have registered their MBBS Degree with the respective state Medical Council.
Admission Procedure:
The candidates willing to study under this institute have to
appear for an entrance exam. The aspiring candidates appearing in the exam need
to follow the rules mentioned in the application form that candidates have to
fill first for enroll their names for the examination. Candidates need to very
conceptual and theoretically cleared about all the topics that are coming in
the examination.
