DY Patil Medical College, Kolhapur was
instituted in the year 1989. It is situated at Kolhapur, Maharashtra.
The institute was started by D. Y. Patil Education Society
with the aim to provide best quality education in the field of health sciences.
The institute was earlier affiliated to Shivaji University,Kolhapur and later to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.
The department of Secondary and Higher Education, Ministry
of Human Resource Development, has declared the D. Y. Patil Education Society
as Deemed University status on the recommendations of University Grants
Commission (UGC).
The College is a famous College of the D.Y. Patil Education
Society deemed University, Kolhapur. It offers various undergraduate and
postgraduate courses under the clinical and non-clinical departments.
Eligibility Criteria –
- For admission in postgraduate and Ph.D. courses such as for admission in M.Sc. in Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine, students must have passed B.Sc. in Botany / Zoology / Microbiology / Biotechnology, MBBS, and BHMS.
- For admission in M.Sc. in Environmental Health Sciences, students must have passed B.Sc. in Chemistry/Botany/Zoology/Microbiology/Biotechnology, Environmental Science, and MBBS.
- For admission in Medical Physics, students must have passed B.Sc. in Physics / Electronics / Chemistry with Physics as subsidiary, A Degree in engineering science with strong physics content, MBBS, DMRD, and DMRT.
- For admission in Ph.D., students must have possess the degree of MD/MS/M.Sc. in related disciplines and for M.Sc. students minimum cut off marks is 55% marks.
- PG Specializations of 18 different courses for 51 seats are available in Dr. D Y Patil Medical College, Kolhapur, Maharashtra. Admissions are based on the competitive entrance examination conducted autonomously by D.Y. Patil Education Society Deemed University.
Admission in PG Course –
- For getting admission into PG Diploma, MD & MS Courses in the medical institution, the MBBS graduates have to qualify Common Entrance Test – conducted by D.Y. Patil Education Society Deemed University.
- The selection of the students is done based on the ranks obtained in all India Entrance Examination.
