Kasturba Medical
College, Mangalore was begin in January 1955. The Medical Council of India
granted recognition to KMC Mangalore in 1958, with the first graduating class.
Recognition by the General Medical Council of Great Britain and the Malaysian
Medical Council followed soon.
The College was first associated to Karnataka University and
later in 1965 to Mysore University, followed by affiliation to Mangalore
University in 1980. Manipal, today, could be a data powerhouse and a name in
teaching.
The college offers P. G. training facilities leading to 26
degrees and diplomas in medical sciences besides Ph. D. in 6 subjects, M. Sc
(Medical) degrees.
The faculty aid facilities at institute managed by the Dr. T
M A Pai Foundation can be compared among the best around the world, Massive
libraries, hostels, play grounds, swimming pools and the 1700 bed super
speciality Kasturba Hospital all add up to make Kasturba Medical College
standout of the crowd.
The State having seen the success of medical education at
Manipal has permitted opening of other institutions across the country for
similar purposes. That's echoing Manipal.
Eligibility:
Pass in MBBS degree recognized by Medical Council of India.
Admission in PG Course –
For getting admission into MD & MS Courses in the
medical institution, the MBBS graduates have to qualify Common Entrance Test –
conducted by Manipal University. The
selection of the students is done based on the ranks obtained in all India
Entrance Examination.
