Sree Balaji Medical
College & Hospital, Chennai was founded in the year 1999. The institute
is a constituent college of Bharath University, Declared under section 3 of UGC
Act, 1956.
The Institution offers MBBS and MD/MS programs recognized by
the Medical Council of India. Sree Balaji Hospital, the 1000 bed teaching
hospital attached to the Institution provides all levels of holistic health
care including major super-specialty services and provides excellent training
opportunities to the students of the Academy.
The institute is situated at Chromepet, Chennai. It is
approved by Medical council of India , Ministry of Health and Family welfare,
Govt of India, New Delhi. The college is situated in the heart of Chennai City
and is close to the Chrompet Railway station, bus stand and Airport.
The college is a private, nonprofit, self financing medical
Institution, pledged to the service of the community, catering to the
healthcare needs of the people in general and especially to the needy,
underprivileged, suffering section of humanity in particular.
The College and Hospital complex has been elevate in an area
of 30.89 acres, ideally located with healthy surroundings. It is provided with
state of art infrastructure in term of its blocks of buildings, which include
state of the art departments, laboratories, classrooms for students, separate
quarters for staff and nurses besides equipment of latest technological
quality. Highly qualified and experienced staff, well-equipped laboratories,
library, modern teaching aids and the hospital with huge patient flow, thus
exposing students to various Medical and Surgical conditions are some
highlights of the college.

research oriented and competent medical personalities and doctors.
Eligibility Criteria:
In order to be eligible to the MBBS course a candidate has
to pass in HSC examination (Academic Stream of 10 +2 curriculum) of any State/CBSE/ISC
or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, with the group of
subjects specified below and obtained the minimum eligible marks prescribed are
eligible to apply for admission to the course concerned.
As per MCI norms candidates should have obtained a minimum
of 50% of marks (in case of SC/ST/OBC 40%) taking together Physics, Chemistry
and Biology and pass in English in the qualifying examination.
Age limit: candidates should have completed 17 years of age
as on 31st December of the academic year. Date of birth given in the
HSC/CBSE/ISC marks sheet or in the Birth Certificate/ Passport shall be taken
for computing age of the candidate.
Admission Procedure:
The application forms for the desired course will be issued
in the college itself and the candidate can obtained it by paying DD of the
specified amount and submitting all the documents required by the college.
