Sri Dharmasthala
Manjunatheshwara (SDM) College of Dental Sciences & Hospital is among
the premier institutes for education in medical science, in India. The college
was established in 1986. The college was given a ‘Five Star’ status by NAAC,
which is a component of University
Grants Commission (UGC). The dental college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi
University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. It is recognized by Dental Council of
India (DCI), New Delhi. The college is dedicated to impart quality education at
the undergraduate and post - graduate levels.
S.D.M. College of Dental Sciences is a self financing, non-profitable
organization. It is spread over an area of 40 acres of land. The campus of the
college provides ideal ambience to its students. It is located in a
pollution-free environment, since it’s away from the city. The college offers
good lodging facilities to its students and leisure amenities within its
campus.

Criteria for Post Graduate /Post Graduate Diploma Courses:
Course Duration –
3 years for Post Graduate Courses (1 year exemption in case
of one who has completed Diploma Course in same specialty).
2 years for Post Graduate Diploma Courses.

Programs:
As per the Post Graduate Regulation 2000 of Medical Council
of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the Entrance Test for eligibility for admission to Post
Graduate Courses shall be 50% for General Merit candidates and 40% for the
candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward
Classes belonging to Karnataka State.
Candidates must meet all requirements stipulated by Medical
Council of India, New Delhi. Accordingly, they should have successfully passed
their MBBS from an institution recognized by Medical Council of India and must
have completed or completing their internship by 30th April of that calendar
year.
Medical Council of
India Norms:
Every student, selected for admission to the Post Graduate
Medical course in any of the
Medical institutions in the country,
shall possess recognized MBBS degree or equivalent qualification and should
have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any
of the State Medical Council or should
obtain the same within one month from the date of admission, failing which the
admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.
In the case of a Foreign National, the Medical Council of
India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for the registration, grant
temporary registration for the duration of the Post Graduate training
restricted to the college / institution to which the applicant is admitted for
the time being exclusively for Post Graduate studies. Temporary registration to
such foreign national shall be subject to the condition that such person is
duly registered as medical practitioner in his own country from which he / she
has obtained his / her basic Medical qualification and that his / her degree is
recognized by the corresponding Council or concerned authority in India.
NRI / NRI Sponsored
Quota Admissions:
Candidates should secure Eligibility Certificate from Rajiv
Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore before seeking admission. (for further detail please logon to www.rguhs.ac.in for online application).
Only for NRI students seeking admission should get clearance
from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare , New Delhi & Local Police
Commissioner as well as from their respective foreign embassy.
