The D.Y.Patil Medical
College was established in year 1989. It is situated at Kolhapur,
Maharashtra. It was started by D. Y. Patil Education Society with the aim to
provide best quality education in the field of health sciences. It was earlier
affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur and later to Maharashtra University
of Health Sciences, Nashik. The department of Secondary and Higher Education,
Ministry of Human Resource Development, has declared the D. Y. Patil Education
Society as Deemed University status on the recommendations of University Grants
Commission (UGC). The College is a Constituent College of the D.Y. Patil
Education Society deemed University, Kolhapur. It offers various undergraduate
and postgraduate courses under the clinical and non-clinical departments.
